PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTINUING
Welcome and thank you for your interest in joining us as we continue our missionary work in the 50 counties of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington.
As part of our missionary work, the Diocese, as an organization, provides services to the vulnerable and has an obligation to protect the people we serve. It is our policy to conduct background investigations on all applications for open positions who are selected to participate in the interview phase of the hiring process. Depending on the specific position, the following checks must be completed:
- Education Verification
- Employment Verification
- Criminal Records Search
- Social Security Trace
- Credit History
At the Diocese of Lexington we believe all are called to extend God’s love, as revealed in Jesus Christ, to all people. In the Human Resources Department, we fulfill this mission by acting as a primary resource to the “front lines” of this love, our employees. Our objective is to provide an efficient and effective support system that the employees of the diocese can rely on. Whatever your calling, in the mission of the diocese, clergy or lay person, from education to clerical, our human resources department is here to serve you, the employee. It’s incumbent upon the Human Resources Department to ensure the diocese and its subsidiary schools and parishes meet federal, state, and local regulations. Also, of the utmost importance to our department, is proper management of employee benefits and compensation. By upholding the standards set forth in the diocese handbook and code of conduct, we strive to provide a consistent and reliable resource for the employee and in doing so, help to further the love of God through departmental efforts.
At times employees have changing circumstances and needs. The forms and documents provided are a means of communicating changes to the administration offices of the Diocese. Both employees and managers should use these forms and documents to insure clear and timely communication with the Diocese’s offices to avoid confusion and delays in benefits to the employees.

Safe Environment Training
Safe environment training is an essential part of creating a culture of safety, trust, and accountability. It equips employees, volunteers, clergy, and ministry leaders with the knowledge needed to recognize warning signs of abuse, neglect, harassment, or inappropriate conduct, while reinforcing appropriate boundaries and professional behavior. Through this training, participants learn how to respond to concerns, follow reporting procedures, and help ensure that every child, young person, and vulnerable adult is treated with dignity and protected from harm.
Because safeguarding others is an ongoing responsibility, safe environment training is required for all individuals who work with or serve children and vulnerable adults. Completing and renewing this training demonstrates a shared commitment to maintaining a secure and respectful environment. By staying informed and acting responsibly, each person helps strengthen the trust placed in our organization and supports our mission to provide safe, welcoming spaces for all.
