The Path of Remembrance at Calvary Cemetery is a place of peace, reflection, and prayer — a space where visitors can honor the memory of loved ones, whether they are laid to rest at Calvary or elsewhere.
This meaningful addition was created as part of an Eagle Scout project by Owen Parish, and serves as a lasting tribute through personalized memorial pavers. Each paver offers families and friends a way to commemorate those they hold dear in a permanent and prayerful setting.
Calvary Cemetery is honored to offer this opportunity for remembrance. Owen’s project reflects a vision first imagined in 2016 when Jim Dare created the Serenity Garden — also an Eagle Scout project — behind the Via Dolorosa Mausoleum. Both young men lost their fathers early in life, and both chose Calvary Cemetery as the place to give back through acts of remembrance and healing. Their contributions continue to bless all who visit.
Owen’s Remembrance Path was made possible through the generous collaboration of Lexington Granite, Clay Ingels, Messer Construction, Vulcan Materials, Stephanie Parish, and many supportive family members and friends.
On Sunday, August 24, 2025, the Path was blessed by Fr. Chris Clay, Spiritual Moderator of the Diocese of Lexington Catholic Committee on Scouting, marking its official dedication as a sacred space within the cemetery grounds.
