We are responsible for being brothers and sisters to each other. When a brother or sister leaves the practice of the faith, we are responsible for addressing the situation with them. This must be done with humility, with deep respect for them, in love, as a true brother or sister. First, we must listen to them, knowing that we are fellow sinners. This may very well teach us something we need to learn in order to grow as the Body of Christ, His presence in the world. We must listen because we love and respect them. Only after deep listening carefully can we respond to what we have heard.
Please consider the following questions:
Do you think/feel that you are growing in your relationship with God?
Where, in your experience, has the Catholic Church fallen short in promoting Jesus' truth and love?
Why have you lessened/stopped your attendance at church?
What suggestions do you have for the Catholic Church to meet your needs better?
