Present: Fr. Miguel, Lee McGrath, John Mitchell, John Larmour, Cara Johnson, Sue Sopola and Becky Estep.
The meeting was called to order by Lee McGrath. The Gospel was proclaimed (Romans 10:13-15) and we prayed the Prayer for the New Evangelization.
Fr. Miguel presented information on ACTS and answered questions in regard to the ministry.
Cara gave the committee an update regarding Many Face in God’s House and spoke about some upcoming events.
+ Parish Picnic: Sunday, May 24th from 2-5 PM + The sub-committee met and decided that the best time for them to meet is the 3rd Thursday of the month. This is also when the Evangelization Committee meets. The Evangelization committee graciously agreed to change their meetings to the 4th Thursday of the month. + Thursday Night Gatherings: 3rd Thursday of each month.
7-9 PM @ MQHR Church
Starting with bi-lingual Mass, followed by sharing, fellowship and food.
Lee updated the committee on Catholics Returning Home (CRH).
+ Lee met with Deacon Tim Weinmann. Deacon Tim is very supportive of MQHR offering CRH. He recommended that the training be conducted on a Saturday morning. + Lee also presented the CRH sub-committee report. + Upon a motion made by Sue Sopola and seconded by Becky Estep, the committee voted unanimously in favor of Lee making a presentation to the Parish Pastoral Council for MQHR to offer CRH. + Lee asked the committee to pray about whom to ask to be on the CRH team and asked that we send her our recommendations. She also asked us to pray about potential committee members and prayer warriors and send those recommendations to her as well.
Evangelization Brochure: John Mitchell and Becky Estep will work on a tri-fold brochure and send it to Lee in June for review.
New Business:
Cara will work on the CRH brochure.
+ It was recommended that due to summer obligations the committee will not meet until August 27th. + Sue spoke about the St. Paul Street Evangelization and will send the committee information in regard to this ministry.
