For marriage enrichment, there are several options for couples in our diocese.
One excellent resource is Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME), a ministry that provides periodic marriage enrichment weekend retreats in central Kentucky and in Ohio. WWME promises an opportunity for couples to take good marriages to great. See link for more information about upcoming weekends.
Another option could include your contacting your parish pastor or staff regarding your interest in helping coordinate a marriage enrichment event for your parish, which could include any of the following:
-A candlelight dinner for couples, featuring a guest speaker on an issue related to marriage
-A half or full day enrichment program at your parish, led by the Family Life Director or another person of the parish’s choosing.
-An ongoing group couples study centered around a particular book or curriculum. Three suggested options are:
Marriage: Small Steps, Big Rewards by Dr. Ray Guarendi
(contact Family Life Office for 6-week study guide to accompany group study)
Men and Women are from Eden, by Dr. Mary Healy (9 chapters with group
discussion questions included after every chapter)
Embracing God’s Plan for Marriage: A Bible Study for Couples by Mark and
Melanie Hart (6 chapters with discussion questions after each chapter)
For information or direction about any of these options, contact Mike Allen at the Office of Family Life Ministries at (859) 253-1993 x 212 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
