SUMMARY:Saints Martha\, Mary\, and Lazarus
DESCRIPTION:Martha\, Mary\, and Lazarus lived in Bethany\, a village near Jerusalem\, and appear in Luke and John as close friends of Jesus. Luke presents Martha serving and Mary listening at the Lord’s feet\, while John presents the family in grief after Lazarus dies. Their home becomes a setting for hospitality\, discipleship\, grief\, faith\, and resurrection hope. \nIn John 11\, Martha makes a profound confession of faith in Jesus as the Christ before Lazarus is raised from the tomb. Pope Francis added all three siblings to this memorial in 2021\, expanding what had previously focused especially on Martha. Their feast reminds us that holiness is found in homes where Christ is welcomed\, questioned\, loved\, and trusted. \nPrayer: Saints Martha\, Mary\, and Lazarus\, help our homes become places of hospitality\, prayer\, faith\, and friendship with Christ. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Ignatius of Loyola
DESCRIPTION:Ignatius of Loyola was born Inigo Lopez de Loyola in 1491 in the Basque region of Spain. A soldier and courtier\, he was wounded by a cannonball at Pamplona in 1521. During his long recovery\, reading the lives of Christ and the saints redirected his ambition from worldly glory to service under Christ the King. \nIgnatius studied in Spain and Paris\, gathered companions including Francis Xavier and Peter Faber\, and founded the Society of Jesus\, approved by Pope Paul III in 1540. His Spiritual Exercises became one of the Church’s most influential tools for discernment. He died in Rome in 1556\, leaving a legacy of missionary zeal\, education\, spiritual discipline\, and finding God in all things. \nPrayer: Saint Ignatius of Loyola\, teach us to discern God’s will and serve Christ with generous hearts. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Alphonsus Liguori\, Bishop and Doctor of the Church
DESCRIPTION:Alphonsus Liguori was born in Naples in 1696 and became a brilliant lawyer before leaving the legal profession for the priesthood. Southern Italy in his time was marked by poverty\, uneven pastoral care\, and debates in moral theology between harsh rigorism and lax permissiveness. Alphonsus sought a merciful\, practical path that helped ordinary people follow Christ without despair. \nIn 1732 he founded the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer\, the Redemptorists\, to preach missions especially among the rural poor. Later made Bishop of Sant’Agata dei Goti\, he wrote extensively on moral theology\, prayer\, and devotion to Mary. He died in 1787 and was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1871\, remembered for uniting truth with pastoral mercy. \nPrayer: Saint Alphonsus Liguori\, help us trust in God’s mercy and follow Christ with a well-formed conscience. Amen.
