SUMMARY:Saint Henry
DESCRIPTION:Henry II was born in 973 and became Duke of Bavaria\, King of Germany in 1002\, and Holy Roman Emperor in 1014. His world was the medieval Christian empire\, where rulers negotiated power among nobles\, bishops\, monasteries\, and Rome. Henry and his wife\, Saint Cunegunda\, supported church reform and monastic life while carrying the burdens and compromises of political rule. \nHenry founded and endowed the Diocese of Bamberg in 1007\, making it a major center of Christian culture and missionary outreach in German lands. He died in 1024 and was canonized in 1146. His feast asks Christians to pray for leaders and remember that authority becomes holy only when exercised as stewardship before God. \nPrayer: Saint Henry\, pray for all leaders\, that they may govern with justice\, humility\, and concern for the common good. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Bonaventure\, Bishop and Doctor of the Church
DESCRIPTION:Bonaventure was born Giovanni di Fidanza around 1217 in Bagnoregio\, Italy. He studied at the University of Paris during the 13th-century scholastic flowering\, where theology\, philosophy\, and newly translated Aristotle shaped intellectual life. He entered the Franciscan Order and became one of its greatest theologians\, joining learning to prayer in the spirit of Saint Francis. \nIn 1257\, Bonaventure was elected minister general of the Franciscans\, helping guide the young order through internal tensions over poverty\, structure\, and mission. Later made a cardinal bishop\, he took part in preparations for the Second Council of Lyon and died there in 1274. Declared a Doctor of the Church in 1588\, he is remembered as the “Seraphic Doctor\,” whose theology burns with love. \nPrayer: Saint Bonaventure\, help us seek wisdom with humility and love God with both mind and heart. Amen.

SUMMARY:Our Lady of Mount Carmel
DESCRIPTION:Mount Carmel\, a ridge overlooking the Mediterranean in the Holy Land\, is associated in Scripture with the prophet Elijah and his confrontation with the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18. In the late 12th and early 13th centuries\, hermits living on Mount Carmel formed a community dedicated to prayer\, silence\, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This community became the Carmelite Order. \nThe feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel became strongly associated with the brown scapular tradition and the Carmelite call to contemplation. As the Carmelites moved from the Holy Land into Europe during the crusading era\, Mary was honored as their patroness\, mother\, and sister in faith. The memorial invites the Church to enter deeper prayer and to let Mary lead believers into intimacy with Christ. \nPrayer: Our Lady of Mount Carmel\, cover us with your motherly care and lead us deeper into the life of Christ. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Camillus de Lellis\, Priest
DESCRIPTION:Camillus de Lellis was born in 1550 in Bucchianico\, in the Kingdom of Naples. A large\, restless man who had struggled with gambling and military life\, he experienced conversion after years of instability and a chronic leg wound. His own suffering eventually led him to serve the sick in Roman hospitals\, where he saw both physical misery and neglect. \nOrdained a priest in 1584\, Camillus founded the Ministers of the Sick\, later known as the Camillians\, who became known for serving the ill even during plague and war. He died in Rome in 1614 and was canonized in 1746. His feast honors healthcare ministry and reminds us that the sick are not burdens\, but living icons of Christ in need of tenderness and dignity. \nPrayer: Saint Camillus de Lellis\, pray for the sick\, caregivers\, doctors\, nurses\, chaplains\, and all who serve with compassion. Amen.
