SUMMARY:Saints Peter and Paul\, Apostles
DESCRIPTION:Peter and Paul are traditionally honored together as the great apostolic pillars of the Church of Rome. Peter\, a fisherman from Galilee\, was called by Jesus and given a unique role among the Twelve. Paul\, born Saul of Tarsus\, was a Pharisee and Roman citizen whose conversion around the 30s A.D. transformed him from persecutor to missionary apostle to the Gentiles. \nBoth men are believed to have died as martyrs in Rome during the persecution of Nero\, likely in the 60s A.D.\, after the great fire of Rome in 64. Peter is traditionally said to have been crucified\, and Paul\, as a Roman citizen\, beheaded. Their feast proclaims that the Church is built through grace working in different personalities: Peter the shepherd and Paul the missionary theologian\, both redeemed by Christ. \nPrayer: Saints Peter and Paul\, strengthen the Church and help us proclaim Christ with courage\, repentance\, and joy. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Junipero Serra\, Priest
DESCRIPTION:Junipero Serra was born Miguel Jose Serra in 1713 on the island of Mallorca\, Spain. A Franciscan friar and professor\, he left academic life for missionary work in New Spain in 1749. After years in Mexico\, he traveled north in the late 1760s as Spanish colonial expansion moved into Alta California\, a frontier shaped by missionary ambitions\, imperial policy\, military presidios\, and Indigenous communities. \nSerra helped found the first nine of the California missions\, beginning with San Diego de Alcala in 1769 and San Carlos Borromeo in Carmel in 1770. He died at Carmel in 1784 and was canonized by Pope Francis in Washington\, D.C.\, in 2015. His feast invites both missionary zeal and honest historical reflection on evangelization\, colonial systems\, Indigenous dignity\, and the Church’s call to proclaim Christ with justice and humility. \nPrayer: Saint Junipero Serra\, pray that our missionary zeal may be joined to humility\, mercy\, and respect for every human person. Amen.

SUMMARY:Theology on Tap: Did The Miracles of the Bible Actually Happen?
DESCRIPTION:Did the Miracles of the Bible actually happen? And do they still happen?  \nAll through scripture\, God demonstrates his power with miracles\, and Jesus proves that his kingdom has come with signs and wonders. Which begs the question\, why don’t we still see miracles? Have they stopped? Did they ever really happen in the first place? Is God just phoning it in these days? \nJoin us on July 2 as Dr. Craig Keener guides us in exploring the world of miracles\, both ancient and modern.

SUMMARY:Saint Thomas\, Apostle
DESCRIPTION:Thomas was one of the Twelve Apostles and appears most vividly in the Gospel of John. In the days after the Resurrection\, he struggled to believe the testimony of the other disciples until the risen Christ appeared and invited him to touch his wounds. His response\, “My Lord and my God\,” became one of the clearest confessions of Christ’s divinity in the New Testament. \nAncient Christian tradition connects Thomas with missionary work eastward\, especially to India\, where communities known as Saint Thomas Christians trace their origins to apostolic preaching. Although the exact historical details are difficult to verify\, the tradition places his martyrdom in the region of Mylapore\, near modern Chennai. Thomas teaches that honest doubt can become a doorway to deeper faith when brought before the risen Lord. \nPrayer: Saint Thomas the Apostle\, pray for us when we doubt and lead us to confess Jesus as Lord and God. Amen.
