The chapter of Saint Vincent de Paul Society at St. Peter parish was formed many years ago by Hugh Findlay and Monsignor Leo Wilson to offer person-to-person services to the needy and suffering in Lexington. The society has two great aims: to do spiritual good to its members through the exercise of charity, and to do spiritual and temporal good to poor families in the name of Jesus Christ. In our chapter, members answer phone calls at Christ the King from needy families once a week and visit those families to deliver food and food vouchers. They work in a small grocery store at Ballard Towers for seniors. They also provide money to Catholic Charities to help families in emergency situations. Our quarterly Sunday second collection helps us continue to provide these services. If you are interested in joining the Society, please contact Cathy Davis at 806-9444.
