SUMMARY:St. John I
DESCRIPTION:aint John I was born in Italy and became pope in 523\, during a time of tension between the papacy and the Ostrogothic King Theodoric the Great. Known for his holiness and dedication to the Church\, John I was sent on a delicate diplomatic mission to Constantinople to negotiate with Emperor Justin I regarding the treatment of Arians\, who were causing conflict in Theodoric’s realm. His efforts succeeded in advocating for the Church and for peace among Christians\, demonstrating both courage and prudence. \nTragically\, upon returning to Ravenna\, Pope John I was imprisoned by Theodoric\, who suspected him of favoring the Byzantine Emperor over his own kingdom. Enduring harsh conditions\, John I contracted illness and died in 526\, becoming a martyr through his suffering for the Church and for Christian unity. He is remembered as a courageous shepherd\, committed to peace\, faith\, and the welfare of the faithful\, even at the cost of his life. On his feast day\, May 18\, the Church honors St. John I for his holiness\, courage\, and devotion to Christ and His Church.

SUMMARY:St. Bernadine of Siena
DESCRIPTION:Saint Bernardine of Siena was born in 1380 in Siena and became a Franciscan priest known for his powerful preaching and devotion to reforming Christian life. Bernardine emphasized the importance of love\, humility\, and devotion to God\, encouraging both clergy and laity to live holy and virtuous lives. \nHe became especially known for popularizing the IHS monogram\, symbolizing the name of Jesus\, and promoting its veneration throughout Italy. His sermons were marked by both fervent passion and pastoral care\, attracting large crowds and inspiring many to conversion. Despite opposition and occasional danger\, Bernardine remained unwavering in his mission to bring people closer to Christ. He died in 1444\, leaving a legacy of preaching\, devotion\, and reform. On his feast day\, May 20\, the Church honors Saint Bernardine of Siena for his zeal\, holiness\, and tireless dedication to spreading the Gospel.

SUMMARY:St. Rita of Cascia
DESCRIPTION:Saint Rita of Cascia was born in 1381 in Roccaporena and is known as the “Saint of the Impossible” for her extraordinary life of faith\, patience\, and perseverance. From an early age\, Rita desired to dedicate herself to God\, but she was married off to a violent husband to fulfill her family’s wishes. Despite the hardships of her married life\, she responded with patience\, prayer\, and charity\, helping to transform her husband and raising her children in the faith. \nAfter the death of her husband and children\, Rita entered the Augustinian convent in Cascia\, embracing a life of prayer\, penance\, and service. She is renowned for her mystical experiences\, including receiving a wound on her forehead\, known as the “thorn of Christ\,” symbolizing her deep union with His Passion. Saint Rita became a model of forgiveness\, humility\, and trust in God\, often interceding for seemingly impossible causes. She died in 1457\, and her intercession has been sought by countless faithful throughout the centuries. On her feast day\, May 22\, the Church honors her devotion\, perseverance through suffering\, and powerful intercessory prayer.

SUMMARY:Pentecost Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Pentecost Sunday\, celebrated fifty days after Easter\, commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles as described in Acts 2:1–13. After Jesus’ Resurrection and Ascension\, the Apostles gathered in prayer in Jerusalem\, waiting for the fulfillment of Christ’s promise that they would receive power from on high. Suddenly\, a sound like a mighty rushing wind filled the house\, and tongues of fire appeared\, resting on each of them. Filled with the Holy Spirit\, they began to speak in different languages\, enabling the diverse crowds gathered in Jerusalem for the Feast of Weeks to hear the message of Christ in their own native tongues. What followed was Peter’s bold proclamation of the Gospel — a striking transformation from the disciple who had once denied Jesus — and the baptism of about 3\,000 people that day. Pentecost is often called the “birthday of the Church\,” marking the beginning of its public mission and celebrating the Spirit’s power to unite\, renew\, and send believers forth in faith.

SUMMARY:Blessed Virgin Mary\, Mother of the Church
DESCRIPTION:The title “Mary\, Mother of the Church” reflects the Church’s belief that the Blessed Virgin Mary is not only the Mother of Jesus\, but also the spiritual mother of all who belong to Christ’s Body\, the Church. \nThe foundation for this title comes from the Gospel of John (John 19:25–27). As Jesus hung on the Cross\, He saw His mother standing near the beloved disciple and said to her\, “Woman\, behold your son\,” and to the disciple\, “Behold your mother.” In that moment\, the Church understands that Jesus entrusted Mary not only to John\, but to all disciples throughout time. At the foot of the Cross — the very hour of redemption — Mary’s motherhood was extended to the entire Christian community. \nAfter the Resurrection and Ascension\, Mary remained with the Apostles in prayer\, awaiting the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 1:14). Her presence among the early believers highlights her role as a mother within the newborn Church — praying\, interceding\, and supporting its mission from the beginning. \nIn 1964\, during the Second Vatican Council\, Pope Paul VI formally proclaimed Mary as “Mother of the Church\,” affirming what Christians had long believed. In 2018\, Pope Francis established the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary\, Mother of the Church\, to be celebrated each year on the Monday after Pentecost — emphasizing her maternal role in guiding and protecting the Church as it continues its mission. \nHer feast day invites the faithful to reflect on Mary as a model of discipleship: her “yes” at the Annunciation\, her faithfulness at the Cross\, and her prayerful presence at Pentecost. As Mother of the Church\, she is seen as a source of unity\, comfort\, and hope — gently leading believers closer to her Son and strengthening the Church in every age.

SUMMARY:St. Justin\, Martyr
DESCRIPTION:Justin is remembered as one of the earliest Christian thinkers who tried to show that faith and reason are not enemies. Before his conversion he searched through the philosophical schools of his day\, looking for a wisdom strong enough to answer the deepest questions about truth\, God\, and the meaning of human life. His conversion did not make him abandon philosophy; instead\, he used his trained mind to explain and defend the Christian faith in a world that often misunderstood it. The historical setting behind Saint Justin Martyr matters because the Church does not remember holiness in the abstract; it remembers real lives shaped by particular cultures\, conflicts\, families\, rulers\, migrations\, councils\, monasteries\, missions\, or local communities. On June 1\, this feast invites the reader to slow down and notice the world around the person or mystery: the pressures of the age\, the expectations placed on believers\, and the concrete decisions that turned an ordinary biography into a lasting witness. \nHis witness matters because he shows that Christianity is not merely private feeling or inherited custom. Justin argued publicly for the faith\, addressed misunderstandings about Christian worship\, and tried to show that every sincere search for truth ultimately points toward Christ. He was eventually martyred\, which gives his intellectual defense of the faith a deeper credibility: he did not simply write about truth; he died rather than deny it. The decisive moments in this story are not only the dramatic ones\, but also the smaller acts of fidelity that prepared the way for courage. A conversation\, a conversion\, a refusal\, a work of mercy\, a prayer in crisis\, a defense of truth\, or years of hidden service can become the moment when grace becomes visible. This is why the saint or feast remains useful for parish storytelling: it lets Catholics see how doctrine\, conscience\, worship\, and daily responsibility meet inside history rather than floating above it. \nThis feast is a strong day to emphasize Catholic confidence in both belief and serious thought. Justin’s story is especially useful for students\, writers\, teachers\, and anyone who wrestles with doubts or hard questions. The message is not that every question disappears\, but that honest searching\, disciplined thinking\, and courageous witness can become a path to holiness. For today\, the practical lesson is to ask where this same kind of holiness is needed now: in family life\, public responsibility\, intellectual honesty\, reverence for the Eucharist\, care for the poor\, courage under pressure\, or perseverance when results are slow. The feast gives Catholics more than a name on a calendar; it gives a human-shaped path for discipleship and a reason to believe that grace can work through the circumstances already in front of us. Saint Justin Martyr\, pray for us.

SUMMARY:Saints Marcellinus and Peter
DESCRIPTION:Marcellinus and Peter are early Roman martyrs whose names have survived more clearly in the Church’s prayer than in detailed biography. One was a priest and the other an exorcist\, and the tradition surrounding them places their death during the age of imperial persecution. Even though the details are limited\, their memory was important enough to be preserved in the Roman Canon of the Mass. The historical setting behind Saints Marcellinus and Peter matters because the Church does not remember holiness in the abstract; it remembers real lives shaped by particular cultures\, conflicts\, families\, rulers\, migrations\, councils\, monasteries\, missions\, or local communities. On June 2\, this feast invites the reader to slow down and notice the world around the person or mystery: the pressures of the age\, the expectations placed on believers\, and the concrete decisions that turned an ordinary biography into a lasting witness. \nTheir feast teaches that not every holy life leaves behind a long paper trail. Some saints are remembered because the Church recognized the weight of their sacrifice and continued to speak their names in worship. That kind of memory is powerful: it says that martyrdom\, even when historically distant and sparsely documented\, remains part of the living identity of the Church. \nThis day can be explained as a reminder that hidden fidelity still matters. Many people will never be famous\, quoted\, or publicly celebrated\, but faithfulness can still become part of a larger story of grace. Marcellinus and Peter invite Catholics to honor the quiet witnesses whose sacrifices made later generations of faith possible. \nSaints Marcellinus and Peter\, pray for us. \n

SUMMARY:Saint Charles Lwanga and Companions
DESCRIPTION:Charles Lwanga and his companions were Ugandan martyrs\, many of them young court pages\, who faced death because their Christian faith placed limits on what they could obey. They lived in a royal court where political power demanded total submission\, yet they understood that baptism had given them a higher loyalty. Their courage was not abstract: it involved chastity\, conscience\, and the refusal to let fear rule the soul. The historical setting behind Saint Charles Lwanga and Companions matters because the Church does not remember holiness in the abstract; it remembers real lives shaped by particular cultures\, conflicts\, families\, rulers\, migrations\, councils\, monasteries\, missions\, or local communities. On June 3\, this feast invites the reader to slow down and notice the world around the person or mystery: the pressures of the age\, the expectations placed on believers\, and the concrete decisions that turned an ordinary biography into a lasting witness. \nThe story is especially striking because many of the martyrs were young. They were not protected by age\, rank\, or worldly influence\, yet they showed spiritual maturity under brutal pressure. Franciscan Media presents them as witnesses to courage and purity\, but their witness is broader as well: they show what happens when Christian identity becomes stronger than intimidation. \nThis feast is ideal for speaking to young Catholics about courage without romanticizing suffering. Charles Lwanga and his companions show that holiness can require saying no to abuse\, manipulation\, and coercive power. Their witness also reminds the whole Church that African Catholic history is rich\, courageous\, and central to the story of modern Christianity. \nSaint Charles Lwanga and Companions\, pray for us.

SUMMARY:St. Boniface
DESCRIPTION:June 5 honors Saint Boniface\, and the heart of the day is mission and evangelization. An English Benedictine\, Boniface became a missionary to the Germanic peoples and worked to reform the Church where the faith was fragile. He gave his life for the Gospel\, showing that evangelization and renewal often demand sacrifice. The story gives the date a clear focus: holiness is not an idea floating above history\, but grace working through concrete choices\, real hardships\, and a particular moment in the Church’s memory. \nThe witness of Saint Boniface shows that evangelization is more than activity or expansion. True mission requires patience\, cultural humility\, sacrifice\, and a willingness to serve people before results are visible. The missionary saint or feast also reminds the Church that the Gospel must be carried by credible lives\, not only by words. \nTo explain the feast today\, frame it around the call to make Christ known with both conviction and charity. Saint Boniface challenges Catholics to ask whether their faith is being shared through service\, clarity\, and courage. It is a useful reminder that every parish\, family\, and workplace can become missionary territory.

SUMMARY:St. Barnabas
DESCRIPTION:Barnabas appears in the Acts of the Apostles as one of the first great bridge-builders of the Church. A Jew from Cyprus\, originally named Joseph\, he was given the name Barnabas\, meaning “son of encouragement\,” by the apostles in Jerusalem. Around the 30s and 40s A.D.\, as the Gospel moved from Jerusalem into Antioch and the wider Mediterranean world\, Barnabas became a trusted figure who recognized the work of grace where others might have hesitated. \nHis most important historical role was helping welcome Saul of Tarsus\, later Saint Paul\, into the Christian community after Paul’s dramatic conversion. Barnabas traveled with Paul on missionary journeys through Cyprus and Asia Minor\, preaching in cities shaped by Roman power\, Greek culture\, Jewish synagogue life\, and emerging Christian communities. His feast reminds us that the Church grows through encouragement\, trust\, and the courage to recognize God’s work in unexpected people. \nPrayer: Saint Barnabas\, son of encouragement\, pray that we may strengthen others in faith and help open the way for the Gospel. Amen.

SUMMARY:The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
DESCRIPTION:Devotion to the Sacred Heart grew from centuries of Christian meditation on the pierced side of Christ in John 19:34\, where blood and water flowed from Jesus on Calvary. In the Middle Ages\, saints such as Bernard of Clairvaux\, Gertrude the Great\, and John Eudes helped deepen devotion to Christ’s human love. The modern liturgical devotion became especially associated with Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque\, a Visitation nun in Paray-le-Monial\, France\, who reported visions of Christ between 1673 and 1675. \nThe feast developed gradually\, was extended to the universal Church by Pope Pius IX in 1856\, and was raised in prominence as Catholic devotion to Christ’s mercy and Eucharistic love spread throughout the world. Historically\, it emerged in a Europe marked by religious conflict\, Jansenist rigorism\, and spiritual anxiety\, offering the faithful a vision of the Lord whose heart is wounded but merciful. The Sacred Heart still calls the Church to reparation\, trust\, tenderness\, and missionary love. \nPrayer: Most Sacred Heart of Jesus\, make our hearts like yours: humble\, merciful\, faithful\, and full of love. Amen.

SUMMARY:The Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary
DESCRIPTION:The Immaculate Heart of Mary is rooted in Scripture\, especially Luke’s description of Mary treasuring and pondering the mysteries of Christ in her heart. The devotion developed over many centuries\, with deeper theological and devotional emphasis in the medieval period and renewed strength through figures such as Saint John Eudes in 17th-century France\, who promoted devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. \nIn the 20th century\, the devotion became widely associated with the apparitions reported at Fatima in Portugal in 1917\, where Mary’s maternal heart was presented as a call to conversion\, prayer\, and peace. Liturgically\, the memorial is usually celebrated near the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart\, showing that Mary’s heart always leads believers to the heart of her Son. Her Immaculate Heart teaches the Church how to listen\, suffer faithfully\, and trust God’s plan. \nPrayer: Immaculate Heart of Mary\, teach us to ponder God’s word\, remain faithful in sorrow\, and follow Jesus with love. Amen.

SUMMARY:St. Anthony of Padua\, Priest and Doctor of the Church
DESCRIPTION:Saint Anthony was born Fernando Martins in Lisbon\, Portugal\, around 1195\, during the age of crusades\, new universities\, and the rise of mendicant religious orders. Originally an Augustinian canon\, he joined the Franciscans after being moved by the martyrdom of Franciscan missionaries in Morocco. He took the name Anthony and hoped for missionary martyrdom\, but illness redirected him to Italy\, where his gifts as a preacher became unmistakable. \nAnthony preached in Italy and southern France against heresy\, greed\, and spiritual negligence\, gaining a reputation for scriptural brilliance and pastoral warmth. He died near Padua in 1231 at about age 36 and was canonized by Pope Gregory IX in 1232\, less than a year after his death. Declared a Doctor of the Church in 1946\, he remains beloved both as a theologian and as the patron invoked when something lost needs to be found. \nPrayer: Saint Anthony of Padua\, help us recover what is lost in our lives and lead us back to Christ. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Romuald\, Abbot
DESCRIPTION:Saint Romuald was born around 951 in Ravenna\, Italy\, into a noble family during a time when political violence and church reform movements shaped northern Italy. After witnessing a violent duel involving his father\, he entered the Benedictine monastery of Sant’Apollinare in Classe. He later sought a stricter life of solitude and penance\, moving among hermitages and monasteries as a reformer. \nRomuald founded the Camaldolese tradition at Camaldoli in Tuscany around the early 11th century\, blending Benedictine community life with eremitical solitude. He died around 1027\, leaving a legacy of silence\, asceticism\, and interior freedom. His feast reminds the modern Church that reform is not only institutional; it begins in the heart\, in prayer\, repentance\, and stillness before God. \nPrayer: Saint Romuald\, pray that we may seek God in silence and serve him with undivided hearts. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Paulinus of Nola\, Bishop
DESCRIPTION:Paulinus was born around 354 in Bordeaux\, in Roman Gaul\, into one of the empire’s wealthy senatorial families. Educated in classical rhetoric and poetry\, he served as a public official before undergoing a gradual conversion influenced by Christian friends and the growing monastic spirit of the late fourth century. With his wife Therasia\, he chose a life of simplicity\, charity\, and devotion. \nAfter the death of their child\, Paulinus and Therasia moved toward a more radical Christian life\, eventually settling near the shrine of Saint Felix at Nola in southern Italy. Paulinus became bishop of Nola around 409 and served during a period of imperial weakness and barbarian pressure in the West. His writings\, friendships with Augustine\, Ambrose\, and Jerome\, and generosity to the poor make him a witness to Christian conversion from privilege to service. \nPrayer: Saint Paulinus of Nola\, help us give generously\, serve humbly\, and place Christ above every earthly treasure. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint John the Baptist
DESCRIPTION:The birth of John the Baptist is described in Luke’s Gospel\, set in Judea during the final years before the public ministry of Jesus. John was born to Zechariah\, a priest of the Temple\, and Elizabeth\, a relative of Mary. His birth was announced by the angel Gabriel\, and his name broke expectation because it signaled a divine mission rather than a family custom. \nThe Church celebrates John’s birth on June 24\, six months before Christmas\, reflecting Luke 1:36\, where Elizabeth is in her sixth month when the Annunciation is made to Mary. John became the voice crying in the wilderness\, preaching repentance near the Jordan River and preparing Israel for the Messiah. His solemnity reminds us that every Christian vocation is meant to point beyond the self toward Christ. \nPrayer: Saint John the Baptist\, prepare our hearts for the Lord and teach us to decrease so that Christ may increase. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saints Peter and Paul\, Apostles
DESCRIPTION:Peter and Paul are traditionally honored together as the great apostolic pillars of the Church of Rome. Peter\, a fisherman from Galilee\, was called by Jesus and given a unique role among the Twelve. Paul\, born Saul of Tarsus\, was a Pharisee and Roman citizen whose conversion around the 30s A.D. transformed him from persecutor to missionary apostle to the Gentiles. \nBoth men are believed to have died as martyrs in Rome during the persecution of Nero\, likely in the 60s A.D.\, after the great fire of Rome in 64. Peter is traditionally said to have been crucified\, and Paul\, as a Roman citizen\, beheaded. Their feast proclaims that the Church is built through grace working in different personalities: Peter the shepherd and Paul the missionary theologian\, both redeemed by Christ. \nPrayer: Saints Peter and Paul\, strengthen the Church and help us proclaim Christ with courage\, repentance\, and joy. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Junipero Serra\, Priest
DESCRIPTION:Junipero Serra was born Miguel Jose Serra in 1713 on the island of Mallorca\, Spain. A Franciscan friar and professor\, he left academic life for missionary work in New Spain in 1749. After years in Mexico\, he traveled north in the late 1760s as Spanish colonial expansion moved into Alta California\, a frontier shaped by missionary ambitions\, imperial policy\, military presidios\, and Indigenous communities. \nSerra helped found the first nine of the California missions\, beginning with San Diego de Alcala in 1769 and San Carlos Borromeo in Carmel in 1770. He died at Carmel in 1784 and was canonized by Pope Francis in Washington\, D.C.\, in 2015. His feast invites both missionary zeal and honest historical reflection on evangelization\, colonial systems\, Indigenous dignity\, and the Church’s call to proclaim Christ with justice and humility. \nPrayer: Saint Junipero Serra\, pray that our missionary zeal may be joined to humility\, mercy\, and respect for every human person. Amen.

SUMMARY:Theology on Tap: Did The Miracles of the Bible Actually Happen?
DESCRIPTION:Did the Miracles of the Bible actually happen? And do they still happen?  \nAll through scripture\, God demonstrates his power with miracles\, and Jesus proves that his kingdom has come with signs and wonders. Which begs the question\, why don’t we still see miracles? Have they stopped? Did they ever really happen in the first place? Is God just phoning it in these days? \nJoin us on July 2 as Dr. Craig Keener guides us in exploring the world of miracles\, both ancient and modern.

SUMMARY:Saint Thomas\, Apostle
DESCRIPTION:Thomas was one of the Twelve Apostles and appears most vividly in the Gospel of John. In the days after the Resurrection\, he struggled to believe the testimony of the other disciples until the risen Christ appeared and invited him to touch his wounds. His response\, “My Lord and my God\,” became one of the clearest confessions of Christ’s divinity in the New Testament. \nAncient Christian tradition connects Thomas with missionary work eastward\, especially to India\, where communities known as Saint Thomas Christians trace their origins to apostolic preaching. Although the exact historical details are difficult to verify\, the tradition places his martyrdom in the region of Mylapore\, near modern Chennai. Thomas teaches that honest doubt can become a doorway to deeper faith when brought before the risen Lord. \nPrayer: Saint Thomas the Apostle\, pray for us when we doubt and lead us to confess Jesus as Lord and God. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Maria Goretti\, Virgin and Martyr
DESCRIPTION:Maria Goretti was born in 1890 in Corinaldo\, Italy\, to a poor farming family. After her father died of malaria\, the family struggled as sharecroppers near Nettuno\, south of Rome. On July 5\, 1902\, at the age of eleven\, Maria was attacked by Alessandro Serenelli and died the next day from her wounds. \nBefore her death\, Maria forgave Alessandro\, who later experienced conversion in prison. She was canonized by Pope Pius XII in 1950 before a vast crowd that included her mother and\, eventually\, her repentant attacker. Her story must be told with care: it is not a romanticized story of violence\, but a witness to the dignity of the vulnerable\, the horror of sin\, the power of forgiveness\, and the Church’s call to protect children and the innocent. \nPrayer: Saint Maria Goretti\, pray for the protection of the innocent and help us choose mercy without abandoning justice. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Benedict\, Abbot
DESCRIPTION:Benedict was born around 480 in Nursia\, Italy\, as the Western Roman Empire had recently collapsed and Europe was entering a period of political fragmentation. After studying in Rome\, he withdrew to a cave near Subiaco\, seeking a life of prayer and discipline. His reputation for holiness drew disciples\, and he eventually founded the great monastery of Monte Cassino around 529. \nThe Rule of Saint Benedict became one of the most influential spiritual texts in Christian history\, shaping Western monasticism through stability\, obedience\, humility\, prayer\, and work. Benedict died around 547\, but his vision helped preserve learning\, agriculture\, liturgy\, and Christian community through centuries of upheaval. His feast reminds us that holiness is built through daily rhythms\, not spiritual drama alone. \nPrayer: Saint Benedict\, teach us to seek God first\, pray faithfully\, work humbly\, and live with disciplined love. Amen.

SUMMARY:Saint Henry
DESCRIPTION:Henry II was born in 973 and became Duke of Bavaria\, King of Germany in 1002\, and Holy Roman Emperor in 1014. His world was the medieval Christian empire\, where rulers negotiated power among nobles\, bishops\, monasteries\, and Rome. Henry and his wife\, Saint Cunegunda\, supported church reform and monastic life while carrying the burdens and compromises of political rule. \nHenry founded and endowed the Diocese of Bamberg in 1007\, making it a major center of Christian culture and missionary outreach in German lands. He died in 1024 and was canonized in 1146. His feast asks Christians to pray for leaders and remember that authority becomes holy only when exercised as stewardship before God. \nPrayer: Saint Henry\, pray for all leaders\, that they may govern with justice\, humility\, and concern for the common good. SUMMARY:Saint Bonaventure\, Bishop and Doctor of the Church
DESCRIPTION:Bonaventure was born Giovanni di Fidanza around 1217 in Bagnoregio\, Italy. He studied at the University of Paris during the 13th-century scholastic flowering\, where theology\, philosophy\, and newly translated Aristotle shaped intellectual life. He entered the Franciscan Order and became one of its greatest theologians\, joining learning to prayer in the spirit of Saint Francis. \nIn 1257\, Bonaventure was elected minister general of the Franciscans\, helping guide the young order through internal tensions over poverty\, structure\, and mission. Later made a cardinal bishop\, he took part in preparations for the Second Council of Lyon and died there in 1274. Declared a Doctor of the Church in 1588\, he is remembered as the “Seraphic Doctor\,” whose theology burns with love. \nPrayer: Saint Bonaventure\, help us seek wisdom with humility and love God with both mind and heart.
