SUMMARY:The Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary
DESCRIPTION:The Immaculate Heart of Mary is rooted in Scripture\, especially Luke’s description of Mary treasuring and pondering the mysteries of Christ in her heart. The devotion developed over many centuries\, with deeper theological and devotional emphasis in the medieval period and renewed strength through figures such as Saint John Eudes in 17th-century France\, who promoted devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. \nIn the 20th century\, the devotion became widely associated with the apparitions reported at Fatima in Portugal in 1917\, where Mary’s maternal heart was presented as a call to conversion\, prayer\, and peace. Liturgically\, the memorial is usually celebrated near the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart\, showing that Mary’s heart always leads believers to the heart of her Son. Her Immaculate Heart teaches the Church how to listen\, suffer faithfully\, and trust God’s plan. \nPrayer: Immaculate Heart of Mary\, teach us to ponder God’s word\, remain faithful in sorrow\, and follow Jesus with love. Amen.

SUMMARY:St. Anthony of Padua\, Priest and Doctor of the Church
DESCRIPTION:Saint Anthony was born Fernando Martins in Lisbon\, Portugal\, around 1195\, during the age of crusades\, new universities\, and the rise of mendicant religious orders. Originally an Augustinian canon\, he joined the Franciscans after being moved by the martyrdom of Franciscan missionaries in Morocco. He took the name Anthony and hoped for missionary martyrdom\, but illness redirected him to Italy\, where his gifts as a preacher became unmistakable. \nAnthony preached in Italy and southern France against heresy\, greed\, and spiritual negligence\, gaining a reputation for scriptural brilliance and pastoral warmth. He died near Padua in 1231 at about age 36 and was canonized by Pope Gregory IX in 1232\, less than a year after his death. Declared a Doctor of the Church in 1946\, he remains beloved both as a theologian and as the patron invoked when something lost needs to be found. \nPrayer: Saint Anthony of Padua\, help us recover what is lost in our lives and lead us back to Christ. Amen.
