SUMMARY:Good Friday
DESCRIPTION:Good Friday commemorates the suffering and death of Jesus Christ on the cross\, the ultimate act of love for the salvation of humanity. On this solemn day\, the Church remembers how Jesus was betrayed by Judas\, arrested\, condemned by Pilate\, and led to Calvary\, carrying His cross along the way. As Scripture recounts\, “Carrying his own cross\, he went out to the place called the Place of the Skull\, in Hebrew\, Golgotha” (John 19:17). There\, He was crucified between two criminals\, enduring mocking\, pain\, and abandonment\, yet He prayed\, “Father\, forgive them\, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34)\, showing boundless mercy even in suffering. \nJesus’ death fulfilled the prophecies of the Scriptures and brought salvation to the world. As He cried out\, “It is finished” (John 19:30)\, the price of sin was paid\, and the way to eternal life was opened. Good Friday invites the faithful into deep contemplation of Christ’s Passion\, calling them to unite their own suffering with His and to reflect on the power of sacrificial love. Though it is a day of mourning\, it is also a day of profound hope\, pointing toward the Resurrection that is to come. \nPrayer:Lord Jesus\, by Your cross and passion\, You redeemed the world. Help us to carry our own crosses with patience and love\, uniting our sufferings to Yours. Teach us forgiveness\, humility\, and trust in Your mercy.
