CCD

St. Peter Claver’s Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Program (CCD) meets the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:15pm - 7:30pm. The goal of this Program is to provide a quality, Catholic-Christian education to all students from First Grade through High School. Each class is designed to familiarize the children with the teachings of the Catholic Church according to the level of their understanding. The teachers at St. Peter Claver have been trained in the ways of the Catholic Church and are certified by the guidelines offered by the Diocese of Lexington. The Sacrament of Confirmation is taught by our Parish Life Director, Deacon James Weathers, and the High School class is taught by our Parish Priest, Fr. Norman Fischer.

Below is the schedule of what is taught at each grade level.

1st Grade	Basic Prayers and Basic Catechism
2nd Grade	The Sacrament of First Eucharist
3rd and 4th Grades	Order of the Mass
5th Grade	The Mass in Action
6th Grade	The Sacrament of Confirmation
7th Grade	Theology of the Body for Middle School
8th through 12th Grades	High School Catholic Youth Organization

CCD follows the schedule of Fayette County Schools, beginning in August of each year with Orientation and Registration through the last day of the school year. Dinner is provided for all children that attend St. Peter Claver’s CCD Program prior to every class.
