Catechist Conference Will Convene Aug. 7 via Zoom

The 2021 Catechist Conference of the Catholic Diocese of Lexington will convene via Zoom this Saturday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The program will include:

Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv. “Why Black Lives Matter: A Catholic Perspective on Racism”

Timothy Matovina “Passing on the Faith to Hispanic Catholics” Timothy Matovina is a professor and chairperson of the Theology Department at the University of Notre Dame. His most recent books are “Theologies of Guadalupe: From the Era of Conquest to Pope Francis” and “Latino Catholicism: Transformation in America’s Largest Church.”

Timothy P. O’Malley “Real Presence: What Does it Mean and Why Does it Matter?” Timothy O’Malley is the academic director of the Notre Dame Center for Liturgy and director of online education at the McGrath Institute for Church Life.

Sister Mary Paul McCaughey, OP “Practical Prayers for Extraordinary Educators” Sr. M. Paul McCaughey is a Dominican Sister of Springfield, IL who currently serves as the coordinator for the Catholic Educational Leadership Programs of DePaul University in Chicago.
