PPC Election
Karen reported that we had six candidates to run for the two positions open on the Executive Committee of the PPC. The qualifications of the six candidates were discussed and a consensus was reached that all six were qualified to serve pursuant to PPC Bylaws. The election timeline was discussed and tasks were assigned to various PPC members to introduce the candidates and election process to the parish community and to conduct the election. The election will be held by written ballot at all masses on the weekend of October 19-20, 2013. Some key dates leading up to the election include: On September 29, 2013, Omar Mendoza will make an announcement at the Hispanic mass to enlist additional candidates; Phil Heink will collect bios and digital photos for each candidate by October 2, which will be enlarged and attached to poster boards by Steve for presentation in the gathering area for masses on the weekends of October 5-6 and October 12-13; the election ballots and pencils will be distributed and gathered at all masses on the weekend of the election; and the ballots cast will be counted after the 5:30 mass on Sunday, October 20, 2014, and all candidates will be contacted with the results.
Rebuilt Discussion
Fr. Dan reported on the positive input he had received from the Parish staff and other groups at MQHR. The consensus of those who have been a part of the discussion is that MQHR would be better served by an approach of “spiritual giving” rather than a “pay the bills” approach. Fr. Dan read a draft letter he is working on to kick off the new approach in November, which was met with positive responses. The Rebuilt discussion will be expanded to a parish-wide discussion. Discussion was held regarding past stewardship efforts, and the consensus of the PPC was that the Rebuilt approach is the way for MQHR to move forward.
Announcements and Updates
Father Dan briefly discussed the financial plan he recently adopted on the recommendation of the Task Force for Development. The plan document was previously provided to the PPC, and the Members had no further questions regarding the financial plan.
The parking lot ministry with Real Life Radio will be introduced to the parish in October and a meeting will be held on October 20th at 12:15 pm to further discuss the ministry.

The meeting was adjourned at about 8:30 pm after the closing prayer led by Fr. Dan.
