The Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) is a weeklong training event designed to teach young people the skills necessary for effective leadership with other youth and adults in a parish or community setting. CLI offers an opportunity for leadership development through an intense period of learning and community living. Servant leadership is also highlighted because as Catholics, that should be our goal: to serve others as Christ did by His example. The CLI process includes prayer, worship, recreation and social time.
It is offered for one week each summer in June and candidates must be recommended to attend by their parish leaders. There is also a CLI reunion every December when the alumni get back together to share their lives with each other and relate how their servant leadership skills have helped them in their daily walk.
CLI graduates use their skills and leadership to help with other diocesan events, such as the high school and middle school retreats and the Catholic Youth Unite (CYU) events.
