Catholic Relief Services (CRS) provides excellent resources for teachers and youth ministers at http://education.crs.org. On this site you can find topics for classroom discussions, information on current global issues, activities to contextualize and raise awareness about the problems that majority of the world faces and ideas for prayer services. There are also lesson plans covering such topics as the situation in Darfur or immigration. All these are designed to get students thinking critically about global issues and about their responsibilities as Christians to their international brothers and sisters. The materials and website are very straightforward and can be used in a number of ways, depending on what the instructor finds most useful. These resources are a valuable tool that every Catholic teacher should know about and utilize.
