The Chancellor serves as the principal notary for the diocese, establishing the authenticity and validity of specified diocesan juridical acts, the manner in which they are documented and the manner in which the documentation that is produced will be maintained, protected and secured.
The Chancellor ensures that the administrative and judicial acts of the diocese are gathered, arranged, safeguarded and preserved in the diocesan archives.
The Chancellor also serves the Church community through the administration of requests for dispensation regarding the Sacrament of Matrimony and maintaining sacramental records for the diocese.
